In 1993, Dr. Bill left his surgical practice in Kentucky to live and work full-time in medical evangelism. Since then, Agape has been showing God’s Agape love by providing medicines, medical consultations, and assistance to those who have little or no access to medical care in the former Soviet Union. Focusing on the most remote and isolated people groups and the urban poor and overlooked our goal is Going - where no ones wants to go, Helping - those no one cares about, and Sharing - God's love with everyone, Agape continues to send teams to areas where the need for medical help is most urgent.
In 2007, Agape began working in cooperation with several of the leading regional medical universities and residency training programs. We asked, “How can we help?” They answered that they wanted us to teach their doctors to be compassionate. Through this arena, our goal is to grow a new generation of medical professionals who can continue the work initially started by Agape. Thus, we added a fourth word to our mission, Teaching - others to do the same.
The Good News of AGAPE’s program of compassionate medical care has spread by word of mouth! Currently, we have more invitations to come and serve than we can possibly meet!
